The Valiant, with 1.3 meter (53 inch) wing span comes with an electric motor and  a radio receiver with a built in stabilizing gyro. i put it together from its prefinished parts in a very short time.  It has wing flaps, so it can be set up for short landings and takeoffs. I needed to have a Spektrum transmitter (2.4 GHz) and a Battery to fly my Bind and Fly version. With partial Flaps down and the SAFE gyro selected, takeoffs were easy from the asphalt runway at Springbrook Prairie Field. I used a 2200 mAh 11.1 volt (3S LiPo) Battery for flights near 10 minutes long.

The 480 sized motor, with Kv = 960 RPM/Volt, turns the 10.75 inch diameter (8 pitch) propeller easily.  Wing Area is 430 square inches (3.0 square feet, so wing loading is 13.2 oz/sq foot, and cube loading is 7.75 oz/cubic foot, putting it in the docile range, where it belongs.
