I found a Push E Cat motor glider Kit at a swap meet in February 2012. It was originally purchased in 2000, and never assembled. Wing is a foam core covered with Kraft paper and Ultracote polyester film The fuselage also is built that way. I also used the tail parts from a GWS Slo-Stick to make a light fin and stabilizer. replacing the original Coroplast parts. Wing span is 57.5 inches. Wing area is 381 square inches or 2.64 square feet, and weight is 29.4 ounces with battery. Wing loading is 11.1 ounces/square foot and cube loading 6.8 ounces/cubic foo
t. The Push E Cat should be more of a sport plane than a glider at this cube loading.
I converted the kit from Speed 400 power to a brushless KMS 31/21 motor from Hobby People. I needed to install a plywood motor mount. I’m using an APC 7 X 5 E propeller on it . With a 3S battery, at nearly full throttle, 12.7 Amps draw, voltage was 10.88 V under load. Power was 140 Watts and thrust was 18.5 ounces.
