Sig Riser 2 Meter

Sig riser is a 2 meter class sailplane  I built from a kit  sold by Sig Mfg..  It is of traditional balsa construction, with surfaces covered with transparent Ultracote.  Wing Span is 78 inches and wing area is 620 square inches or 4.31 square feet.  Weight is 31 ounces.  Wing loading is 7.18 ounces/square foot, and cube loading is 3.46 ounces/cubic foot. The Riser competes with other "Woodies", like the Goldberg Gentle Lady, but is heavier than more modern composite 2 Meter Sailplanes.  I have flown it at the S.O.A.R. sod farm flying site.  I launched it with a bungee style launcher using a stretched Latex tube for power.

Push E Cat Motor Glider

I found a Push E Cat motor glider Kit at a swap meet in February 2012.  It was originally purchased in 2000, and never assembled.  Wing is a foam core covered with Kraft paper and Ultracote polyester film  The fuselage also is built that way.    I also used the tail parts from a GWS Slo-Stick to make a light fin and stabilizer. replacing the original Coroplast parts.  Wing span is 57.5 inches.   Wing area is 381 square inches or 2.64 square feet, and weight is 29.4 ounces with battery.  Wing loading is 11.1 ounces/square foot and cube loading 6.8 ounces/cubic foot.  The Push E Cat should be more of a sport plane than a glider at this cube loading.
