MicroX Taylorcraft

I built this very light model of a Taylorcraft in 2008 from a kit by MicroX, a defunct firm with a well designed group of models.  It is light for its size, at an airframe weight of 19 grams, but may be slightly off scale.

Its wing span is 21.5 inches.  After I made minor modifications to the power set up, it began flying fairly well, and then it flew into one of the many thickets at Bong Recreation Area and disappeared.  I need to build another one.

Cessna 140 from Dare Kit

This Scale Model of a Cessna 140 flies well. I flew it at a meet of the Cleveland Free Flight Society in Lorain Ohio in September 2012, where I took the picture of it flying by the tree tops on the Home Page.  I built it from Dare Design Kit 116FS in 2011. The kit  is still available through Brodak (https://brodak.com/dare-cessna-140.html). and is about 1:15 scale. Full scale data may be found at  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cessna_140 .  The model has a 26 inch Wing Span, and wing area is 104 Square inches.

Helio Courier from Herr Kit

The Helio Courier that I built from a Herr Engineering kit (HRRK112) in 2013 is a model of an STOL aircraft with both civil and military versions.  There is a good article on the prototype in Wikipedia.  The Herr line was taken over by Sig, but lately this particular kit may be hard to find.  I used the pattern for markings in the kit box, rather than any particular full-sized aircraft.  The Model has a 30 inch Wing Span, roughly 1/16 Scale.  The flight in the picture was at the AMA Field in Muncie during the 2019 Flying Aces Outdoor Champs Meet.
